2005

Taiwan (Taipei)
- Partner: ADAT (Art Development Association of Taiwan)
- Context: International conference on theatre and education
- Activities: conference and workshops with a group of twenty participants group coming from China, Australia, Taiwan and South Korea.
- Aim: reflection on the usefulness of theatre in education

Europe
- Project: theatre and prison in Europe
- Partner: Pioltello-Milano Town Hall
- Context: urban areas with a high proportion of migrants from different cultures
- Participants: inhabitants of the neighbourhood and social workers from the town
- Aim: to live together
- Activities: Five workshops where interactive shows are created (groups: young students, disenfranchised young people, adults and social workers) and performance at a festival.

 

2004

Italy (Verona)
- Project: CONFLUENZE with the association METIS in Milan:
- Partners: Verona Town Hall and Italian association Metis-Africa

- Context: urban areas with a high proportion of migrants from different cultures
- Participants: inhabitants of the neighbourhood and social workers from the town
- Aim: to live together
- Activities: creation of shows using theatre, dance and music, with seven groups of all ages (from nursery schools to adults) and performance at a festival
- Training of social workers in Forum Theatre techniques

 

2003

Burundi (Bujumbura and Gitega)
- Partners: Direction of Suisse Cooperation and Development, Terre des Hommes Association and the French Cultural Centre in Burundi.
- Context: post civil war and genocide
- Participants: widows, orphans, street children and local social workers
- Aim: to deal with traumas and daily difficulties in familial and social contexts disrupted by civil war
- Activities: expression workshops and Forum Theatre creation

Performances with a very large audience

The Théâtre de l’Opprimé—Paris also worked in Burundi in 2000 and 2001, in the same context.

Morocco (Casablanca, Rabat and Sale)
- Partners: Penal Reform International, UNICEF and the British Cooperation
- Context: three detention centres for minors in Morocco
- Participants: officers-educators, guards and young inmates
- Aim: to improve the way participants deal with conflicts

- Activities: Training for education officers in Forum Theatre techniques

Performances with the parents, the authorities and the other inmates
