Summer quarters project
Led by the Interministerial Committee for the Prevention of Delinquency and Radicalization (CIPDR), the Quartiers d'été project sets up weekly workshops in several districts of France (QRR: Quartiers de Reconquête Républicaine; and QPV: Quartiers Politique de la City). They primarily target young people aged 16 to 25 in difficult situations to fight against delinquency, discrimination and dropping out of school, by working on living together. After the successive confinements since March 2020 and the restrictive health measures put in place, the project aims to prevent any risk of rupture and community withdrawal, by strengthening social ties and opening up new perspectives through cultural and sporting activities.
As such, the Théâtre de l'Opprimé organizes workshops that mainly include forum theater on relationships with others (at work, family, society, etc.), but also music and capoeira. Each session begins with group cohesion, relaxation, breathing and vocal work exercises, before tackling character work, text and forum setting around the targeted themes (mainly focused on the fight against radicalization and recurrence).
