How the T.O. maintains its connection with the spectActors!
Online forum-theater
Despite this period of uncertainty and isolation, the T.O. troupe is opening up a new window to reestablish the connection between the diverse audiences of France and abroad.
Since experiments like that of ISOLAT (2013-2016) an interactive online project with partners in Italy, Romania, Palestine and Portugal; the online forum-theater with the Catholic Institute of Paris or the remote workshops of the 5th and 6th of December 2020 and January 9, 2021, the Theater of the Oppressed wishes to develop the means to allow the for the creation of more video conference projects.
On December 2nd, we took our experiences from the online forum-theaters, and the actors from our troupe presented 2 sessions of online forum-theater to the students of the Catholic Institute in Paris. The device was well-received by the 80 students, who were excited to be able to play the game through their cameras at home. The principle is the same as for those of in-person sessions, the public becomes actors and takes hold of the situation in proposing a solution to the conflict established in the scene. It is so that in front of their cameras that the students of the Catholic Institute of Paris spoke up to voice their propositions and move the debate forward.
Orientation, solidarity, self-confidence and civil engagement… these are the themes that guided the scenes. While the experience with the students at the ICP was a success, we do not intend to stop there. We wish to continue developing the online forum-theater with you.

Workshop organised at a group's request:
Number of participants : 6-11 people per group
Target audience : anyone. There is no reauirement for artistic/theatrical experience
Trainers : 1-2 actors/directors/trainers specialising in the T.O. techniques
Duration: 9:00am to 6:00pm with the same group (minimum 3h of work per session)
Meeting place: on Zoom
Necessary technology: An electronic device (computer, tablet or smartphone) per person with internet access.
